Nestled in the beautiful Dordogne countryside near the village of Lauzun, Château de Lauquerie is easy to reach from the UK and across Europe. Whether you prefer to fly, drive, or travel by train, there are lots of options.
Bergerac Dordogne Périgord Airport (25–30 mins)
There’s one mid-morning flight a day from Stansted (with Ryanair at 1050am at present). An airport transfer (for both arrival and departure) is included for all guests arriving on this flight. Guests are of course free to hire a car at the airport.
Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport (approx. 1.5–2 hrs)
A larger international hub with frequent flights with multiple airlines. Car hire is available at the airport for a straightforward drive through scenic countryside to the château, for those that prefer that option or who wish to have a car for the week. Please note that we do not organise a coach pick up for guests from Bordeaux Air.
Many guests choose to drive from the UK, combining the journey with a French road trip. We recommend taking the Eurotunnel or ferry to Calais, then following the motorway network south (A10/A62) towards Marmande and on to Lauzun. On-site parking is available at the château.
Train travel to Bergerac is also possible for a relaxed journey.
You are welcome to arrive anytime after midday on the day the retreat starts.
We will be hosting a drinks reception and welcome at the chateau at 6:00pm that day.
Most of our guests find that arriving in time to relax a little before the welcome drinks sets them up for the week ahead. We do – of course – understand that might not fit with your travel plans (the first singing session is on the morning of the following day), but hope very much to see you there.
You are also welcome to arrive in France and depart on different days, but your accommodation and any transfers would need to be arranged privately (please note that it is not possible to extend your stay at the chateau itself and you would need to find accommodation in the surrounding area).
