Château de Lauquerie, often known locally as the “Templars’ Castle”, is a remarkable 14th-, 16th- and 18th-century château set on a hill in the heart of its private estate in Lot-et-Garonne. The nickname comes from its early history — the original medieval stronghold on this site was linked to the Knights Templar, whose presence shaped much of the region’s architecture and heritage. Today, the château combines this rich history with modern comfort. Located between the charming village of Lauzun and the bastide town of Eymet in Dordogne/Aquitaine, it sits on about 60 acres of peaceful countryside. Completely restored, the château offers spacious, characterful living space and flexible accommodation.
Rooms come as doubles or twins and each one is full of charm and comfort: beautifully furnished, with private bathrooms (bathtub or shower), heating, and lovely touches like views over the garden or valley, terraces and outdoor access where possible. Guests can enjoy three lounges, a library, a dining room, a bar area, covered terrace, and shared amenities including a large swimming pool (14×7 m), tennis courts, pétanque pitch, parkland, and garden areas for quiet reflection or group activities.
